Purpose of the guideline: Patients with severe burns, especially those with inhalation injury, have become one of the main causes of death in burn patients due to necrotic airway tissue, secretions, infection, peeling of airway mucosa or airway ulcers. However, simple suction can not effectively remove secretions and necrotic tissue. Clinically, airway irrigation is commonly used to clean airway secretions, and fiberoptic bronchoscopy is gradually used in burn patients, such as the diagnosis of aspiration injury patients and bronchoalveolar lavage, and plays a certain role. This consensus will further standardize the clinical application of airway lavage therapy in patients with severe burns.
